Jaguar 4.2 liter XJ6 and XKE High Torque Gear Reduction Starter:
This starter replaces the Lucas number 25684[s3114] starter among others, used in most Jaguar 4.2 in the E Type and XJ6(up to 1987).
Quite possibly our most ordered starter in the cold winter months! This is our 1.2 HP nippondenso starter that has been expertly machined and modified to work in the Jaguar XKE, XJ6 and other 4.2 liter Jags from 1965-1987. This is a great starter at a fantastic price. Stronger and lighter than the original starter with no permanent modification needed to you vehicle. This starter will fix you winter cold cranking issues as well as warm weather hot start issues. Bolt it on and go! We sell a bunch of these and they are always in stock!
Electrical Hook-up:
This starter has one large bolted terminal for the positive battery cable from your vehicle. There is also a second small solenoid terminal (1/4" male spade connector) which connects to the wire from your vehicle's ignition switch. The starter is very simple to install and connect!
Installation Tips:
This starter does not have threaded holes as the original. This usually helps in that it makes it easier to install. You will "through-bolt" the starter using the original bolts and a set of lock washers and nuts (or nylon inserted locking nuts) that can be easily gotten at the hardware store for a few cents.
