Triumph TR6 High Torque Gear Reduction Starter:
TThis starter replaces the Lucas number 25647 [S2116] starter, used in all Triumph TR6 from late 1969 on.
This is our 1.2 HP nippondenso starter that has been expertly machined and modified to work in the Triumph TR6 from 1969-1976 . This starter does not work in some very early cars that are equiped with the TR5/TR-250 flywheel and starter. Those cars will use our "TR-250/Spitfire" starter.
This is a great starter at a fantastic price. Stronger and lighter than the original starter with no permanent modification needed to you vehicle. Bolt it on and go! We sell a bunch of these and they are always in stock!
Electrical Hook-up:
This starter has one large bolted terminal for the positive battery cable from your vehicle. There is also a second small solenoid terminal (1/4" male spade connector) which connects to the wire from your vehicle's ignition switch. This starter also has a small balast terminal used in some late 1976 vehicles. The starter is very simple to install and connect!
